At Beth Interactive, 2022 was a year of connection.
Helping our clients connect in new ways with new supporters.
Connecting the dots in some of our largest and nerdiest reports yet.
Reconnecting with our 12 years of history to unveil our new brand.
This past year offered infinite opportunities for creative innovation—and we jumped headfirst into every one of them. Below are just a few of the highlights!
Helped raise more than $12M
An increase in 140% from last year (!), these dollars help our clients’ communities live, thrive and innovate. We’re so proud to have supported this philanthropy through major gift proposals, annual giving, digital appeals, giving days, sponsorships, employee outreach, stewardship and a whole lot more.
8,853,849 emails sent
About a million more emails than last year!
1,234 email campaigns
Split across our 40 clients, that’s a lot of emails! It meant 1,234 unique chances to think creatively, design boldly and connect with millions to promote our clients’ missions.
63 annual appeals
From Doctors’ Day and Giving Days to Year-End Appeals, we used digital and print strategies to raise critical dollars for our clients—seeing up to a 98.8% year-over-year increase in giving!
14 new clients
It was our enormous honor to partner with these powerful and passionate organizations in 2022:
8 clients FINALLY met in person
What a joy to move beyond the Zoom screen to see (and hug) you in person! Since travel has been limited since 2020, we were thrilled to finally meet many of our longtime friends and clients in person—both during US travels and here in Chicago at this year’s Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) International Conference.

3 new team members
The Beth Interactive team grew over the past year as we welcomed Kendra Wright, our newest Director of Content Strategy; Nick Hatcher, our Head of Operations; and Anneka Bakker, our second Fundraising and Marketing Specialist.
Kendra Wright joined our team in January, bringing 10+ years of experience as a social worker, educator, program manager and fundraising professional. With strengths in communication and organization, Kendra loves to learn new skills and brings creativity to every project.
Nick Hatcher also joined our team in January after “dabbling” in the design of alloys and engineering self-driving car systems. He brings 8+ years of business management along with 15+ years of solving science, engineering and data challenges—as well as a passion for data, systems design and finding operational efficiencies.
Anneka Bakker joined our team in October with a passion for marketing and a non-profit background. She is excited to join the efforts of our team in implementing innovative design and seeking new techniques for reaching and sustaining audiences.
1 retirement
With tremendous gratitude for her 11 years of dedicated service to Beth Interactive, we celebrated the retirement of Mary Laux—Business Manager and Beth’s mom. Mary was instrumental in developing the pristine bookkeeping standards of the company, onboarding nearly every team member and keeping the operations humming smoothly.
In a typical Beth Interactive celebration, we shared loving memories of our time together (and even saw her hit a QuickBooks piñata with a baseball bat in her garage). Thank you for your incredible work, M&M!
13 team celebrations
Have we mentioned how much we love to be together? Though several of us live outside Chicago (or even outside the Midwest), we make the most of every opportunity to gather in person or celebrate virtually. This year’s gatherings included our holiday party and a team retreat over the summer—complete with a group cooking class and a surprise baby sprinkle for Lauren!
Another one of our favorite Beth Interactive traditions is playing a trivia game about each team member on their birthday. Full of heartfelt appreciation, creative nonsense, deep fried memes and everything in between—we are so grateful for the creativity that Brandon and Kaleigh (the Birthday Sheriff and Birthday Deputy) bring to these celebrations.
Enjoy the photos from our festivities below!
